Cooler Master MasterWatt Lite PSUs focus on budget market

One of the issues with tech reporting is that there's often a disconnect between what publications write about and what most people buy. While we all like power supplies with very high efficiency ratings, the reality is that a lot of these ultra high-end PSUs are way too expensive and offer too little bang-for-buck to make them worthy of consideration.

Today's announcement from Cooler Master swings the pendulum more to the other side with the introduction of the MasterWatt Lite 230V power supplies. Don't expect fancy features from these units, they have the standard 80Plus certification and have fixed cables with just a little bit of sleeving for the bulkier cables.

All units feature a silent 120mm HDB fan and promise typical efficiency of 85 percent. They will ship in 400W, 500W, 600W and 700W versions with suggested retail pricing of 39.99EUR, 49.99EUR, 59.99EUR and 64.99EUR.
Power on. We want the MasterWatt Lite Series to be that simple. In the box are all the essentials of a reliable engine so you don't have to think about it. We added higher-end perks like Active PFC and PWM technology for more stability, and made sure we met ErP 2013 and CE ratings for safety and low energy impact. It's the survival kit for reliable, affordable power.

Advanced Circuit Design
Active PFC + PWM combined with dual forward topology and double EMI filter enhances power output efficiency and increases the performance and stability of your system

Silent and Durable Fan
Cooler Master's 120mm HDB temperature control fan can operate more smoothly without friction, which makes it quiet and more durable.

Green Power
Compliant with ErP 2016 Lot6, which guarantees that your PSU will use less than 1W on system standby and lower than 45% transferring efficiency on 5V standby.

Safety Guardian
Full protection (OCP/OVP/SCP/OPP) with built-in Over Temperature Protection (OTP). Minimizes the risk of damage from power outages.
