A bit more than a year ago The Tech Report founder Scott Wasson retired from tech reporting to take up a job at AMD. In his role as senior manager of AMD product marketing, Wasson gave an exclusive interview about the Vega architecture to RedGamingTech.

The full interview is just over 45 minutes long and can be viewed below. VideoCardz listened to the whole talk and notes Wasson did not reveal a lot of new information.

Just two things stood out a bit. First, Wasson hints that there are still some Vega technologies that haven't been announced yet. Some of them are major and others are small, the AMD marketing team is still figuring out how these technologies will improve the user experience and how they can best advertise them.

Secondly, he also confirmed that AMD showed off just one Vega chip and that the architecture can be used to launch a broader series of products:
Around 26:45 mark, Scott also explains that Vega is an architecture that can have an entire family of product base and AMD has only demoed one chip. I think that’s quite interesting because we still don’t know whether to expect just a high-end product (like Fury successor) or whole series of products, that would eventually replace Polaris too.
