We haven't heard a lot from Mushkin in recent years but now we come across an announcement that the company has made its entry into the peripheral market with the launch of the Carbon KB-001 mechanical keyboard.

The design of the KB-001 is somewhat atypical, this gaming keyboard is made from anodized and brushed aluminium, has fancy edge highlights, features frameless floating keys, and comes with the usual RGB LED key illumination. Mushkin reportedly opted for Kailh Brown key switches, the keyboard also has NKRO and a Windows key lock for gaming sessions.

Besides the LED lights, the keyboard has relatively little bells and whistles. It features a small (not detachable) wrist rest and has a braided USB cable.

Availability is unknown but the launch pricing is said to be around $70.
