Swedish tech site Sweclockers confirms AMD will be launching its Ryzen processors on March 2 at 16:00 CET (10:00 AM EST).

At the same time, AMD's motherboard partners are expected to reveal an avalanche of motherboards for the Ryzen platform. Initially, most motherboard makers will likely focus on models with the high-end X370 and mainstream B350 chipset. In a nutshell, the main difference between the X370 and the B350 is that the former supports AMD CrossFire and NVIDIA SLI, and supports more connectivity options than the B350. Both models support overclocking, a feature that will be lacking on the budget-class A320 chipset.

The site says it's unclear how many processors AMD will have available at launch. There are strong indications that the launch lineup may consist exclusively of the high-end Ryzen R7 series, which would mean the quad-core and six-core models follow at a later date. There's no certainty about this but most leaks and shop listings point this way.
