Xiaomi to reveal its in-house smartphone SoCs on February 28?

Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi send out invites for a product event on February 28 at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Industry sources believe the company will showcase its in-house developed "Pinecone" SoC series. Here's a bit of info about the V670 and V790 Pinecone SoCs:
The V670, which is likely to be showcased at the event, will come with eight cores comprising of four high-frequency Cortex-A53 cores and four Cortex-A53 low-power cores, paired with an ARM Mali-T860 MP2 GPU. The chip will be made on a 28nm process, according to media reports in China.

The 8-core V970 will comprise of four Cortex-A73 cores and four Cortex -A53 cores paired with a Mali G71 MP12 GPU. Pinecone is expected to cooperate with Samsung Electronics to build the V970 on a 10nm process. However, the V970 may not be available until the end of 2017, said the reports.
The site also writes Xiaomi is expected to introduce a new entry-level smartphone at the event. This is believed to be a 5.5" model with a 13MP main camera and a 8MP front-facing camera. Pricing of this phone is believed to be 1,299 yuan, or about $189.
