Rumors are going around that Samsung is working on a duo of huge widescreen displays for the desktop market.

First up is a 44" panel with a 29:9 aspect ratio and a 3840 x 1200 pixel resolution. The screen reportedly offers 8-bit color depth and will arrive in 60Hz and 144Hz variants.

Next there's an even larger 49" gaming model with a 32:9 aspect ratio and a 3480 x 1080 pixel resolution. Samsung is calling this "Double Full HD", the screen has a 144Hz refresh rate and has FreeSync and G-Sync support.

Both screens use a VA based panel, have a tight 1800R curvature and feature a 3-side frameless design. Production is expected to start in September so these screens may still be a half year or more away from us.
