Great new for fans of the original Age of Empires game! To celebrate this classic's 20th anniversary, Microsoft will be making an Age of Empires: Definitive Edition.

This remastered version is designed for 4K displays and will feature upgraded art assets, new and rebuilt sound effects and completely new narration throughout. Expect much sharper visuals, new zoom levels, and enhanced gameplay. Single-player and multi-player modes will be offered, including support for Xbox Live. Furthermore, the game will also have a classic mode in case you want to try out the look and feel of the original.

A closed beta can be found over here. The final version is expected later this year for around $20.
