AMD's Ryzen Threadripper may launch on July 27 or perhaps as late as August, according to the latest rumors. Now the first benchmark scores are popping up of the Ryzen Threadripper 1950X. This appears to be the final name of the 16-core flagship model, and not 1998X as was previously rumored.

According to the benchmarks, this 16-core, 32-threaded chip has a clockspeed of 3.4GHz, but it's not known if this is the final base or boost frequency.

The GeekBench score is posted below. As always, take these leaked scores with a grain of salt as they could be fake or not representative of the final product. The score seems rather low.
The Ryzen Threadripper 1950X sample scored 4,167 single-thread performance, and 24,539 points in multi-threaded performance. To put these numbers into perspective, an Intel Xeon E5-2697A v4 16-core/32-thread processor based on the "Broadwell" architecture scores 30,450 points in multi-threaded performance, even if single-thread performance is as low as 3,651 points. Perhaps the memory setup or SMT isn't optimally set for the Threadripper chip.
