AMD decided to not provide any Radeon Vega Frontier Edition review samples to the tech media so unfortunately there are no in-depth tests of the first Vega card. However, the first users are receiving the card so you can expect benchmarks results to pop up here and there.
VideoCardz spotted a bunch of photos and benchmark results from someone named #define. Keep in mind the Frontier Edition was not designed for gaming, this is a prosumer card that has a Game Mode but AMD recommends gamers to wait for the cheaper RX Vega cards.
Anyway, he benched the card in 3DMark Fire Strike and it seems the performance of the $999 Frontier Edition is roughly in-line with the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080. Keep in mind test conditions may not have been optimal. For example, #define's system was using a 550W PSU whereas AMD recommends 850W and he also notes there are some issues with the card's clockspeed.
The official launch of the RX Vega cards is slated for July 30th at SIGGRAPH.
