PC Perspective tests the Radeon Vega Frontier Edition - slower than GTX 1080 (video)

Just wanted to give a heads up that PC Perspective is one of the first sites to test the Radeon Vega Frontier Edition. The site hasn't published a written version yet but if you're interested in an early look at the results you can rewatch their livestream.

So what's the conclusion? Anyone hoping for a real NVIDIA killer will be disappointed as the Frontier Edition's performance doesn't match the one-year old GeForce GTX 1080 in most tests.

Hopefully AMD can deliver a better RX Vega next month but it looks like this will once again be a competition in terms of price/performance. That's great for gamers looking for a more affordable card but not very good news for AMD's graphics unit, especially because these cards use the much more expensive HBM2.
