FUD Zilla picked up a scoop that AMD is selling GPUs directly to miners. The site claims AMD cooked up special MXM cards, these are usually for laptops but it seems they're also a good fit for miners. FUD Zilla claims the MXM cards from AMD are cheaper than anything that's currently available from add-in board partners (if you can even find something).
Our industry sources confirmed that AMD is selling MXM cards directly to miners. Usually the MXM Mobile PCI Express Module is reserved for laptops, but apparently it can to go miners too.

The MXM-B has 82mm width and 105mm length, supports 256-bit memory as well as 200W TDP. In other words, it can accommodate almost anything.

Miners can plug a bunch of these MXM GPUs in a board and have an efficient mining platform. The MXM GPU from AMD has to be cheaper than anything you can get from Add in board partners or distributors.
