Childhood memories are coming back as Microsoft announced a new entry in the Age of Empires series! With the exception of Age of Empires Online it's been awfully quiet about Age of Empires for the past ten years or so but now we're getting two new games.

First up is the Age of Empires: Definitive Edition, this game will hit the market in October 19. It's a remake of the original game with better textures, prettier models, new animations, updated online gameplay and various other improvements.

Perhaps more exciting is that Relic Entertainment is working on a completely new Age of Empires IV game! Not a lot of details were revealed but Relic says they're thrilled to fuse historical context with deep strategic gameplay, and to bring the Age of Empires franchise back to the forefront of gaming. More details will be revealed in the month to come.

Furthermore, Microsoft also confirmed Age of Empires II and Age of Empires III will get a Definitive Edition treatment.
