Toshiba shows off a new line of solid state disks that use the SATA interface. This model is marketed under the OCZ brand, it's called the OCZ TR200 series and it features Toshiba's latest, third-generation 64-layer 3D BiCS TLC NAND memory.

These 2.5" disks are offered in 240GB, 480GB and 960GB capacities. All three variants feature read speeds of up to 555MB/s and write speeds of up to 540MB/s. The maximum random read and random write performance varies slightly depending on the capacity, the 480GB disk is the fastest with 82,000 random read IOPS and 88,000 random write IOPS.

Toshiba offers a warranty of three years. The pricing of the 240GB, 480GB and 960GB disks is expected to be around $89, $149 and $289, respectively. Overall this looks like a good budget lineup.
