I still remember buying the original Microsoft IntelliMouse, nearly two decades ago. It was one of the first mass market optical mice on the market, it had a scroll wheel and it came with two side buttons. Truly revolutionary at the time and a major improvement versus the ball mice that made up most of the market.
In a blast from the past, Microsoft is bringing back this design with the introduction of the Classic Intellimouse! This peripheral features the Microsoft BlueTrack sensor with 3200dpi and 1000Hz polling.
There aren't a lot of bells and whistles on the Classic IntelliMouse, it's a wired USB mouse with five buttons, of which three are customizable. While the original model from 20 years ago had red LED illumination, the new model opts for white LED illumination.
The peripheral ships for $39.99. That's cheaper than the model that launched two decades ago, I remember paying the equivalent of about 50EUR.
