A freshly leaked Intel desktop processor roadmap reveals a new codename! The successor to Intel's Skylake-X HEDT architecture is codenamed Cascade Lake-X and will hit the market around Q4 2018. No further information is available, this is supposedly a 14nm+ architecture.

The slide also confirms Intel will be rolling out more Coffee lake-S processors in Q1 2018, as well as more 300-series chipsets. Production of these processors starts in the fifth week of 2018, while the chipsets will start rolling out of the fabs about two weeks later.

The second wave of Coffee Lake processors will include dual-core models for the entry-level market. Retail availability is expected in March/April 2018. Intel's roadmap also reveals there are currently no plans to launch a Coffee Lake successor in 2018.

Lastly, there's also word that the Gemini Lake SoCs will ship in week 50, 51 or 52 of this year. These include 10W dual-core and quad-core chips for low-power applications.
