A couple of months ago, Corsair introduced its Neutron NX500 NVMe PCIe SSD lineup. These PCIe SSDs promise read speeds of up to 3000MB/s, write speeds of up to 2400MB/s and 300K/270K IOPS random read/write.

At the time of the product's launch, Corsair exclusively offered 400GB and 800GB models, with the promise of a 1600GB version following at a later date. That moment has now arrived as Corsair is now shipping the Neutron NX500 1600GB.

The 1600GB (CSSD-N1600GBNX500) variant offers read speeds of up to 3000MB/s, write speeds of up to 2300MB/s and 300K/270K random read/write IOPS. Corsair offers the disk via its webshop for $1,574.99 (1,769EUR). So basically, just under one dollar per gigabyte, which is about double the price of a regular SSD.
