VideoCardz writes these chip names popped up on the website of both ASUS and ASRock.
The specification sheet indicates these are low-power versions with a 35W TDP, which is 30W less than the regular G parts. Whereas the 2400G has a 3.6GHz base clock, the GE edition lists 3.2GHz. Similarly, the 2200GE is 3.2GHz too, whereas the 2200G has a 3.5GHz base clock.
The Turbo of these CPUs is unknown, perhaps they even lack this feature. Presumably, these chips also have much weaker integrated graphics.
Interestingly, there was a different rumor earlier this week about "GE" parts from AMD. A SiSoft Sandra benchmark listing indicated these parts would use Athlon branding.
