An interesting tidbit about Intel's Skylake-X processors. The chip giant originally said there is a difference in the number of AVX-512 FMA units between the Core i7 X-series and the Core i9 X-series. Basically, the 7800X and 7820X would have one unit per core, whereas the 7900X would feature two.

However, a new specification sheet from Intel reveals all three chips are equally AVX-512 capable.
[O]fficial documentation pointed out by CPU detective InstLatX64 on Twitter today confirms that Skylake-X Core i7s and Core i9s are actually equally capable in that regard. Intel's own product comparison page, when loaded up with the Skylake-X family, shows that every chip of the brood is specced with two AVX-512 FMA units—a figure the company confirmed is correct.

The Tech Report reached out to Intel and got to hear that the spec sheet is indeed accurate. AVX-512 is a new instruction set and it's mainly aimed at high performance computing (HPC) tasks, at the moment there's not really any desktop support.
