Overall, the new chip seems to be 4 percent faster in video games than the Ryzen 7 1800X. In synthetic benchmarks, the chip beats the former flagship by 14 percent. However, this comes at the downside of higher power consumption. The Ryzen 7 2700X has a 13W higher load power consumption than the 1800X.
The review was conducted with an A320 motherboard, which does not support XFR2. Although, according to CPC Hardware, changes from X370 to X470 chipset are cosmetic and should not provide any substantial performance differences.
