Photos leak of the MSI X470 Gaming Pro Carbon AC

Posted on Sunday, April 01 2018 @ 23:01:20 CEST by

VideoCardz got its hands on exclusive photos of the MSI X470 Gaming Pro Carbon AC. This new motherboard for AMD's second-gen Ryzen series will be offered with and without onboard WiFi AC. Design-wise, it looks similar to the X370 version, but besides some cosmetic changes, there are some important differences. First up, there are now actual heatsinks over the VRM area, and the current is delivered via two 8-pin EPS connectors (the X370 version had ust one connector).
The X470 Carbon Pro AC lost one PCIe x1 slot, but it gained two additional SATA ports (in total there are 8). There are still two M.2 slots, but the primary one is covered with a new version of M.2 Shield, which is much longer than on X370 so it should provide better heat dissipation.

The site heard MSI is also working on an higher-end X470 GAMING M7.
