The Kaby Lake-X lineup from Intel was one of the most pointless series we had seen in a long time. As such, it's no surprise Intel is quietly removing these chips from its portfolio.

TechPowerUp reports both the Intel Core i5-7640X and Intel Core i7-7740X quad-core processors will reach end-of-life (EOL) status on May 7, 2018.

Retailers, suppliers, and OEMs will be able to order the processors until November 30, 2018, with final shipments scheduled for May 31, 2019.
