It's been a long time since we've seen a new gaming video card architecture from NVIDIA as the company's Pascal generation continues to reign supreme. There were some expectations about an announcement at Computex but NVIDIA CEO Jen-Hsun Huang dashed these hopes when he was pushed to comment:
Information was taken from UFCTech's Youtube channel which live-streamed the Computex press conference. While talking about real-time Ray Tracing and some other announcements at the press conference, Nvidia CEO, Jensen Huang was pretty much pushed to comment about next-generation Geforce graphics cards, confirming we won't hear anything new at Computex 2018 and that members of the press will be timely invited to the launch but should not expect it "very soon".
We do know the chip designer will talk about its next-gen GPUs at Hot Chips 2018 in August, but the actual launch schedule remains a mystery.

On a slightly related note, NVIDIA announced at Computex that its partners are working on more laptops with Max-Q series GPUs. This technology was announced at Computex 2017, Max-Q is basically a tweaked version of Pascal that promises high gaming performance for thin and light laptops. By the end of the year, there should be at least 30 laptops with Max-Q. Including the announcements at Computex, there are currently 26 Max-Q based systems, up from 7 a year ago.
