Intel introduced its Core i7-8086K processor at Computex and is giving away 8,086 units to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the first 8086 processor. This six-core, twelve-threaded CPU is the first Intel chip with a 5GHz Boost (single-core) frequency.

The commemorative processor delivers Intel's best desktop gaming performance with the power for advanced content creation and productivity.
The 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8086K processor celebrates Intel's introduction of the first processor in the x86 series and the first 8086 microprocessor. Introduced on June 8, 1978, the original 8086 was the first 16-bit processor and the first processor capable of modern personal computing.
Why It's Important: The new Intel Core i7-8086K processor delivers a fresh series of firsts. It features Intel's first 6-core, 12-threads and integrated graphics in an 1151-pin package supporting a 64-bit instruction set.
