Phanteks multi-faceted blades promise to make fans better

Phanteks teased prototypes of future fans at Computex. The firm cooked up new blades with a "multi-faceted" design, which promises higher performance at lower RPMs and lower noise levels.

The fan blades are made from glass fibre and they're curved perpendicular toward the edges, similar to the vortex-dampening wingtips of airplanes. The blades maintain a gap of just 0.7mm from the border of the frame and the fan has a 6-phase motor with an unknown bearing type.

Vibration dampening silicone cladding works to further reduce noise. Phanteks will offer these new fans in 120mm and 140mm editions, in 25mm and 30mm thick versions. There's also support or daisy-chaining, so you can hook up multiple fans to each other, with minimal cable clutter.

You can expect availability later this year.
