Dutch tech site Tweakers.net shot some photos of the Gigabyte AORUS X399 Xtreme motherboard. This motherboard is intended for the upcoming second-generation Ryzen Threadripper processors from AMD. This E-ATX sized board is capable of handling the new 32-core CPUs with a 250W TDP and has 10+2-phase VRM.

Gigabyte gave the motherboard four PCI Express 3.0 x16 slots (2x x16 + 2x x8), three M.2 slots with a heatsink, six SATA ports, a bunch of USB headers, and 10Gbps LAN.

One of the special features of the AORUS X399 Extreme is that it has a backplate. This metal plate isn't intended for cooling but is there for an RGB LED strip that provides an underglow LED light effect. It's pretty interesting to see what manufacturers are coming up with these days to RGB All the Things.
