SSD prices almost hit two-year low

Prices of solid state disks have dropped significantly over the past couple of months. There was a gradual price hike due to a shortfall of NAND flash memory supply, but the market stabilized earlier this year and the result is that prices of solid state disks are now trending near two-year levels.

Good news for everyone considering to build a new gaming PC, especially as video card prices also dropped hard due to the bust of the cryptocurrency mining boom. Some charts with SSD pricing can be found at Dutch tech site Hardware.Info.

Below is a dramatic chart of the 500GB Samsung 860 Evo's pricing, its retail price fell from 179EUR to 129EUR in just a couple of months time:
