Tom Forsyth announce on Twitter that he's soon taking up a position as chip architect in Raja Koduri's group. Forsyth claims he isn't entirely sure what he'll be working on just yet, but it's interesting to note that he was the hardware and software architect behind the chip giant's Larrabee GPU project.

As you may know, Intel aimed to get into the video card market about a decade ago but Larrabee fell flat on its face. That marked the chip giant's second attempt, after the Intel 740 failed to gain a foothold in the late 1990s.

Now Intel hopes the third time's the charm with a new GPU project spearheaded by Raja Koduri, the former head of AMD's Radeon Technologies Group. If things go well, we may see the first results from Intel's new GPU project sometime in 2020.
