Intel's shares received a lift yesterday after a new analyst report hit the wire. A firm named BlueFin Research Partners claims Intel is making significant strides towards its internal 10nm yield target. Information discussions with several suppliers suggest the chip giant could kick off mass production of the long-delayed 10nm chips in April 2019.

The analyst says this would be four to six weeks earlier than previous projections, although we should add that some sources claim that Intel's 10nm process won't be ready before the end of 2019.
A ramp up of Intel’s 10-nanometer production could begin as soon as April, four-to-six weeks earlier than current projections, BlueFin Research Partners said in a research note. Intel gained as much as 5.2 percent while rival AMD fell 8.6 percent.

Intel is making “significant strides” toward the the company’s 10-nanometer yield target prompting informal discussions with several suppliers about the possibility that the ramp could begin before June, according to BlueFin, a boutique research firm based in Boston.
