Late September there were whispers about a Polaris 30 GPU made on a 12nm process. Now the rumor resurfaces as Chinese tech site PC Online reports that they've heard from one of AMD's AIB partners that a new Polaris 30 based Radeon RX 570 refresh (Radeon RX 670?) will arrive between October 12 and October 15.

The site writes the successor of the Radeon RX 570 will feature a 12nm GPU, this will enable slightly higher clockspeeds. A refresh of the Radeon RX 580 is also in the works, that card will follow sometime in November.

Both models will be made on a smaller process, they will not offer any architectural changes so this is still largely the same chip that was launched in June 2016. As far as we know, there isn't much exciting on AMD's near-term GPU roadmap. The 7nm Vega focuses on the server market and the 7nm Navi, which is reportedly the successor to Polaris, is still many months removed from us.
