Not a whole lot of news to write about today but there's an interesting snippet about the ASUS GeForce RTX 2080 Turbo video card. As you may know, there are two versions of NVIDIA's Turing GPUs. The default version for the RTX 2080 is the TU104-400, which may not be factory-overclocked, but then you also have a binned TU104-400-A1 chip that is sold at a premium. The A series are guaranteed to hit higher speeds, have better power efficiency and offer better overclocking.
Now it appears that some of the ASUS GeForce RTX 2080 Turbo cards actually have the premium chip. The reason for this is unknown, but PC Games Hardware
got its hands on one of these cards and flashed it with the BIOS of the ASUS STRIX OC. This can result in performance gains of up to 20 percent.
Only a small number of the ASUS GeForce RTX 2080 Turbo cards have the A-series chip, so you're playing the silicon lottery here.
