DigiTimes picked up news that TSMC's 7nm process will not be fully utilized in the first half of 2019. Due to a fall in orders from Apple, HiSilicon and Qualcomm, the utilization rate is expected to be only 80 to 90 percent:
TSMC has landed lower-than-expected 7nm chip orders for the first half of 2019, and will likely utilize only 80-90% of its total 7nm process capacity during the six-month period, the report quoted industry sources as saying.
