The ensuing huge application opportunities have prompted existing Taiwan designers of Type-C power delivery (PD) and controller chips to develop integrated solutions, while also driving many peers to jump on the bandwagon.
USB Type-C chip pricing to fall over 20 percent next year

Industry sources told DigiTimes that the pricing of USB Type-C interface chips is on track to decline by over 20 percent in 2019. More supply is coming online and that will result in lower prices.
