SSD penetration seen getting a big boost from sharp price drops

DigiTimes Research takes a look at what's going on the NAND flash memory market. The agency notes sharply lower prices are accelerating the penetration of NAND flash memory in various consumer segments. There's even a chance that SSDs will take over HDDs in terms of market penetration this year:
Meanwhile, driven by lingering price falls, NAND SSDs are expected to see fast penetration into consumer electronics devices and may have a chance of experiencing a golden cross with HDDs in 2019 in terms of market penetration, according to industry sources.
