We're in the post-CES lull so there isn't a whole lot of interesting news to post. One of the things that may excite you is Skyrim Together, an upcoming co-op mod that will enable you to play Skyrim with up to eight of your friends. PC Gamer reports a closed beta will be released soon. This mod will not be release via Steam though, as Bethesda has blocked it.
The closed beta period will be used to test stability and make fixes, and won't last long according to the mod's developers, with an open beta available to everyone following a week or two later. The mod, when released, will feature its own launcher (Bethesda objected to the release of the mod on Steam). The current cap is set at eight players max, though it's possible this may change in the future. Servers for the mod are currently only located in Europe, but again, this may change after launch based on player demand.
The launch date of the closed beta is unknown. Previously, the Skyrim Together developers claimed the mod was almost ready for launch back in 2017, so you'll probably going to have to be patient.
