Acer thinks it can achieve 50 percent growth in gaming PCs

DigiTimes writes Acer has high hopes of its gaming PC sales. The company will drive a big marketing push this year, with the hopes of achieving 50 percent on-year revenue growth from this market segment. Gaming and ultra-thin laptops are expected to be the key growth drivers for the firm in 2019.
Revenues from the gaming notebook business accounted for 12% of the Acer Taiwan's overall amount in the fourth quarter of 2018 and ultra-thin notebooks 35%, according to the company. For 2019, Acer will push ultra-thin notebook's proportion to over 40% and that of gaming notebooks to 20%. Traditional notebooks with lower prices are expected to see their proportion drop from 2018's 65% to 40%. The company is hoping to improve its financial status by focus on promoting high-end products.
