Industry sources told DigiTimes that RAM demand from the handset market is set to soar. New Android-based flagship phones scheduled for a 2019 launch are expected to feature a minimum of 10GB RAM:
The sources believe that 10GB RAM will be the mainstream spec for flagship smartphones released by the Android camp this year, with several players promoting their flagship models with more than 10GB of RAM.

Specification upgrades will remain a strategy for smartphone companies this year, the sources indicated. Nevertheless, mobile DRAM demand is unlikely to see a substantial rise until the second half of 2020, the sources said. The sources continued that smartphone replacement demand will remain sluggish prior to the commercialization of 5G phones.
Pretty stunning how much memory this year's high-end phones are going to haven, that's more than what you find in a lot of gaming PCs. According to the latest Steam Hardware Survey, the average Steam user has 8GB or less memory in his (or her) PC. Just 39.56 percent of Steam gamers have 10GB or more RAM.
