While you can find budget motherboards at a decent price, motherboards for the extreme high-end are getting quite expensive! TechPowerUp writes the ASUS ROG Dominus may be the most expensive motherboard ever for the client-segment. Designed for the 3,100EUR Intel Xeon W-3175X unlocked quasi-HEDT processor, this is technically almost a workstation motherboard and it's quite a beast:
Built in the SSI-EEB form-factor, this board is designed for overclocking the 28-core/56-thread Xeon chip, which is capable of pulling over 1000W of power (just the CPU) under extreme overclocking. The processor itself is priced around 3,100€ including VAT.
The motherboard will reportedly be sold in the EU for 1,550EUR.
