There was some buzz yesterday on the web about AMD's Radeon VII soon getting Radeon Pro driver optimizations. The news was based on a leaked slideset that shows off the upcoming changes in the AMD Radeon Pro Software Enterprise Edition 19.Q1 driver release. One slide mentioned the Radeon VII so this lead many to believe that this model would get workstation-class optimizations.

AMD Radeon VII no Pro

Unfortunately, this interpretation isn't correct. Techgage reached out to AMD for clarification and got to hear that the Radeon Pro optimizations will not be available for regular Radeon cards like the Radeon VII. The tablet below provides an overview of the differences in features between Radeon Graphics and Radeon Pro Graphics.
Radeon™ Pro Software for Enterprise 19.Q1 simplifies deployment and delivers the stability, simplicity, and security of Radeon™ Pro Software to knowledge workers using commercial applications and content creators using media and entertainment applications with AMD Radeon™ graphics cards (Radeon™ VII “One Driver” support coming soon). However, the workstation application certifications and optimizations available with AMD Radeon™ Pro Software for Enterprise when using Radeon™ Pro graphics cards are NOT available when using AMD Radeon™ graphics cards.
