The "Can it run Crysis" meme is about to get another kick down the road as a modder is working on a ray-traced version of the game. Created by NVIDIA employee Pascal Gilcher, this mod uses the Reshade post-processing injector to take the graphic of Crysis to another level.
Tested on Asus ROG RTX 2080 Ti. Renowned shader injection tool Reshade is getting a ray traced global illumination upgrade and we've been experimenting with an alpha version - but how best to put it through its paces? How about combining it with classic Crysis, modding it to allow for multiplayer co-op and thus opening the door to a new Digital Foundry liveplay? After eight hours of frustrating failure, we got it working!
