Speculation already hit the web late last month and now there's official confirmation that AMD hired Alienware co-founder Frank Azor as Chief Architect of Gaming Solutions. Via a short tweet, Azor says this is a huge opportunity for him to help grow the gaming industry.

Azor co-founded Alienware in 1996 and became the head of Dell's XPS and Alienware units in 2006. After 23 years of experience in the desktop PC and laptop building business he's now moving to the hardware component side, but his exact day-to-day activities at AMD are still a bit of a mystery.
