Last week DigiTimes wrote Samsung and Micron are planning to increase the pricing of NAND flash memory. Combined, both firms command nearly half of the global market so this could have a major impact on the pricing of SSDs.
Now the site follows up with a report that Taiwanese memory makers are increasing prices. Companies like Adata Technology, Phison Electronics, and Team Group have reportedly increased SSD prices by 10-15 percent.
The firms have also implemented a limited-supply policy amid concerns about an upcoming spike in NAND flash and DRAM chip prices.
