AMD EPYC-based Hygon Dhyana C86 CPU takes top spot in SiSoft cryptocurrency benchmark

WCCF Tech reports the Chinese Hygon Dhyana C86 processor has taken the top spot in the SiSoft Sandra cryptocurrency benchmark. As you may remember, AMD shared some of its Zen IP with Chinese firms via a joint-venture. These chips are basically custom EPYC processors fabbed by GlobalFoundries. The Hygon Dhyana C86 chip is part of that agreement but the one thing AMD did not design was the cryptographic layer. As such, it's pretty surprising to see it performing this excellent in that area.
Now I will admit right off the bat cryptography is not my piece of cake so I will leave detailed analysis of this particular benchmark to the experts but I will say this: the processor is currently beating out pretty much everything else out there and considering it's using a Chinese-designed component for this - it is pretty impressive.
