TecLab decided the wait for the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti SUPER was too long and managed to craft their own SUPER card! The guys took the GDDR6 memory chips of two GALAX RTX 2080 SUPER video cards and mounted them on a GALAX RTX 2080 Ti HOF. In the video clip below, you can see the delicate process of how they unsoldered the GDDR6 memory chips from the RTX 2080 SUPER to how they swapped the RTX 2080 Ti's memory with the 16Gbps GDDR6 chips.

Obviously, the team has a lot of experience but it's still impressive that they managed to bring this feat to a successful end. Once the card was finished, it booted without a problem. The RTX 2080 Ti's BIOS even automatically recognizes the GDDR6 and runs it at 16Gbps without requiring BIOS modding.
Long story short, it worked. The limitations of the memory controlled prevented TecLab from achieving even higher clocks, but they ended up at 2250 MHz (17200 MHz effective), which is 3200 more than stock 14 GHz.
