WinAero reports Microsoft is testing ads in WordPad. Some folks discovered that the latest Insider Preview builds of Windows 10 contain a feature that activates Office ads in the operating system's built-in text editor.

The site even has instructions on how you can enable the ads in Windows 10 build 19546. I'm not sure why you'd want to do that, but it's great to know it's possible!
The ads encourage the user to try Word, Excel and PowerPoint online. [T]here are six different variants of ads.
