Microsoft announces its cancelling all internal and external events until July 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic. Until the summer of next year, the software giant will make all of its events digital-only.
“In light of the challenges presented by COVID-19, Microsoft has been closely monitoring the developing global situation and re-assessing the overall company-wide in-person event strategy,” explains a recent email to Microsoft MVPs. “As a company, Microsoft has made the decision to transition all external and internal events to a digital-first experience through July 2021.”
Build 2020, which was supposed to be held in Seattle in May, was already transformed in a digital event. This news implies the 2021 edition will also be a digital-only version, unless Microsoft postpones it to a date beyond July 2021. Furthermore, this also means Microsoft will not be present at Computex 2020.

The latter was planned for June 2 - June 6, 2020 and got rescheduled to September 2020 due to the coronavirus - which may have been a bit too optimistic. With Microsoft already saying nope to Computex, more companies will likely follow.
