Is the wait for the AMD B550 almost over? WCCF Tech claims AMD will announce this chipset on May 21st, with retail availability expected around June 16th. The B550 will be the first mainstream option for AMD's Ryzen 3000 series processors, bringing PCI Express 4.0 support to the masses.
The AMD B550 motherboards are expected to continue support for better I/O and come at lower prices than the existing X570 options. According to our sources, AMD plans to introduce its B550 motherboards on 21st May but you won't be expecting a retail launch until the 16th of June which is almost a month apart from the announcement.
Motherboards based on the B550 chipset are expected to be priced in the $80 to $150 range. Currently, the cheapest X570 motherboards start around $150.
