Twitter leaker KOMACHI_ENSAKA discovered that Meteor Lake will be Intel's first 7nm architecture for the consumer market. Meteor Lake is the successor to Alder Lake, the 10nm++ part that will feature up to eight big high-performance cores and eight small cores with high energy efficiency in an ARM big.LITTLE-like configuration.
Older reports throughout 2019-20 speculate "Meteor Lake" (known at the time only by its name), could come out at a time when Intel monetizes its "Golden Cove" high-performance CPU core. It's quite likely that like "Alder Lake," it could be a heterogenous chip targeting several client form-factors, mobile and desktop.
Intel told analysts last week that its first 7nm products should be ready in Q4 2021, so we can expect Meteor Lake towards the end of next year at the earliest, or sometime in 2022.
