This is the sort of news that requires a little disclaimer. There are plenty of rumors on the web and more often than not they aren't very accurate. Future CPUs and GPUs are a popular rumor topic and if these rumors don't pan out it's usually because the rumor was fabricated or because a company's plans can change often.

Anyway, a leak popped up that details NVIDIA's Ampere GPUs. This rumor was posted by Twitter user chiakokhua (aka Retired Engineer). He already deleted the tweet but it got picked up by China Times. Retired Engineer is known for correctly predicting the number of chiplets used by AMD's EPYC 2 processors.

If his information is correct, there will be a launch of RTX 3070 and RTX 3080 video cards in Q3 2020, followed by the RTX 3080 Ti in Q4 2020 and cheaper RTX 3060 cards in Q1 2021. It's believed that these Ampere GPUs will be made on a 7nm process and the information indicates they will feature 16Gbps GDDR6 memory across the entire lineup - which seems a bit odd.

Here are the full specifications, which also reveal a big increase in RT cores:
