Word is going around that TSMC may have scored orders from all three major PC chip makers! Citing reports from Asia, WCCF Tech reports TSMC's 5nm production will not only include AMD's Zen 4 processors, AMD's RDNA3 GPUs, and NVIDIA's Hopper GPU, but potentially also a future Xe GPU from Intel!.
Intel tapping TSMC could be a move that might surprise a lot of people but it makes perfect sense to us. If Intel's graphics team, which consists of former Radeon leads that worked closely with TSMC, is allowed to focus only on the design process and not be bogged down with foundry concerns, then it will ensure a very successful diversification of risk for investors.
TSMC's first 5nm node recently entered mass production.
