TSMC: No specific plans yet for US fab

Yesterday, there was a report about the US wanting to become more self-sufficient in chip production. Intel was keen on making this happen and the article also covered TSMC.

The latter reveals it's always evaluating potential locations for future overseas plans, but at the moment the Taiwanese foundry has no specific plan yet:
TSMC has always been evaluating potential locations for an advanced wafer fab overseas, including the US, but no specific plans have been put in place yet, according to the pure-play foundry.
Yesterday, rumors talked about meetings between the US government, Apple and TSMC about setting up a chip plant in the US. Such a plant could satisfy some of Apple's chip demand.
